The current Eurasia Express project stems from a collaboration with Professor Lui Ke of the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts (GAFA). In 2025, GAFA and the BBK signed a cooperation agreement designed to support German-Chinese friendship and build a bridge across the shared continent. The first outcome of this collaboration is the residency of painter and musician Iris Nitzl and the multidisciplinary artist Frank Campoi in March and April 2026 at the Wumuchong Art Zone. The joint exhibition ‘Between Landscapes’ now showcases the first results of the works created by the two artists during their residency at the Songshan Lake Box Museum.

‘Looking into the Sun with Eyes Closed’ from Iris Nitzl explores the phenomenon of subjective color perception behind closed eyelids while facing the sun. These inner, abstract paintings change depending on light conditions. Mental images also arise from the interplay between visible reality, inner vision, and the inner perception of form and colour.

Frank Campoi creates under the permanent tittle ‚The smell of Rain‘ he creates multimedia works using image, film, word and sound. His interactive explorations deal with evolution in the context of human existence, its necessity and the associated responsibility. In his multidisciplinary juxtapositions, he channels interpersonal energies. He directs the entirety of his ‘excavations‘, which he unearths from the depths of diverse cultures, into an unpredictable interactive transformation.

Christian Schnurer is an internationally active artist dedicated to fostering international relations through art. As Vice-President of the Association of Liberal Professions, he promotes sustainable organizational models and networking for freelance artists. His video work “The Patriot – Tyrol” documents, from a subjective perspective, his own absurd gesture of waving a flag in the flooding Inn River, exploring the individual’s steadfastness amid turbulence.
